Price Wars 101, Chapter 3.

Amazon announced 50% off on the NY Times Best seller list. Same day, Barnes & Noble matched it. Hours after that Books a Million announced 55% off and advertised the use of price comparison software that is available for free download at their site and across the web. Who makes any money? This is still an infant industry and they are already at each others throats.

Give it a couple years when sales growth dissipates over more vendors and the end of early adoption - then it will realy get bloody.
