John, I've known about this for almost 10 years from a non-technical standpoint as I have done work for a specialty chip maker that does many of the custom chips that go into space and military hardware. In order for me to do my bit properly they ran me through a crash course on the biz. That's where I got all these missile chips in my curiosity drawer. -g-

I don't know how big the failures are going to be, but I sure don't feel real good about folks catching all the problem components. And then there are the upstream interruptions that compliant organizations will suffer because their suppliers are not there in time. With global trade, that will really be a nightmare. -nfg- I don't think our power grid will end up being a huge problem, it will be the little things that no one has thought of which could snowball to horrific scale. Could be a long winter.
