What I really like are outputs fed from an internal cable to a panel which mounts in a 5 1/4" bay. Front panel access beats everything else for temporary or often rearranged connections. Ideally there would be some way of also using it externally in case the user doesn't have an available 5 1/4" bay.

I've seen a couple of speaker setups with controls and outputs done like this and it is very cool.
