They can hold electronic money and secured identification that allows users to do everything from conduct e-commerce transactions, to receive government benefits, to have controlled access to secure areas and more. Biometric identification systems certify the identity of individuals based on unique biometric information that can be a fingerprint, a face, the iris of the eye or even the way in which a person's hand holds a pen and moves when signing a name.
