Mark, re. market orders, I'm not sure, but I've been told that they are especially unwise with BB stocks. I was told that market makers are essentially not required to honor their bids and asks and that I should always use limit orders.

Mark:

I am a new customer of DLJdirect. So far I am very happy. I find them to be very fast, almost as fast as Datek -not as fast as MBTrading...but a lot faster than Waterhouse, Schwab, Bidwell and NDB.

(yes, I have accounts at all of them...I've got to cut one or two out, can't decide which..)

I've been using DLJ's Market Speed interface, which is quite useful.

Anyway, my reason for giving DLJ my custom is the availability of shorts, which has been imperfect but excellent. Better than Datek used to be, so far.

I have not yet experienced any poor service..nor any other kind of service, but I'm happy to hear you say it is improving.

It's notable that DLJ advances $15,000 of buying power the moment the account is established on line.
