might be Cockney, or geographically close to Cockney As told to me by an English Lady....( not a Cockney herself). "Cockney accents are what you get when you grow up within hearing range of the Bow Bells of London." Yorkshire has the 'eh' as well to an extent, So that opens the possibility that the butter tart has its origins in the "Yorkshire pudding"... (or those who eat butter tarts end up with a Yorkshire pudding belly) <g> He was a Yorkshireman, taught me the 'hear naught, see naught, say naught' thing. He was a Yorkshireman, and a wise man...
