Derek,

The "mono out" on my MobilePro 770 device is poor, certainly not designed for the audiophile. Also, the Hum software I downloaded for playing mp3 files is full of static. I have had an excellent experience on my PC and Pontis MMC player with MusicMatch Jukebox ripped content, so I am spoiled. I may try to download the Windows CE version of the Xaudio mp3 player before giving up.

I am afraid there will be no music for me on my NEC. That is pretty sad. I guess that is the price you pay for being ahead of the curve. The device is also having problems with multitasking, so it was probably out of the question in the first place. I am hoping that the audio quality will be satisfactory for spoken word. Unfortunately Audible.com only has a palm PC software player for Windows CE. The handheld version is not ready for prime time just yet.
