And what about stock options? How much longer will savvy high tech workers accept stock options in lieu of a high salary, especially in a startup? I know I wouldn't - too risky. Will this have any effect on wage inflation? Corporate profits?

Commodity prices have been at all time lows. They can only go up because as the saying goes, "the cure for low commodity prices is low commodity prices," meaning that when prices get too low, the producers will simply stop producing, leading to higher prices. The Asia crisis is now abating and the rising demand may outpace lowered production to give the CPI a real kick in the pants.

Are we on the verge of inflation-a-rama?
