I recall reading an article in a British PC magazine about storage
densities in disk drives. Some company, I think it may have been
Seagate, has achieved a density which permits 100 GB hard disks.
I presume this means in a typical 3-1/2" 1/2" height drive. The
current drive electronics were not capable of reading the data
fast enough at this density, so they have to manufacture a mere
70 GB disk in the meantime. Haven't seen them in the local store
yet - these are probably expensive hard disks destined for
servers. But my point is that this was achieved without KM, so I
don't seen any prospect for selling KM any time soon, if ever.
