Still here, still short...

Hello again,

Well, it's been a topsy turvy month since I shorted Dell at 41 3/8. We've seen Dell dive to 36 and rise to almost 45. I guess I could have waited until yesterday, but who's timing is perfect anyway? I maintain my position on DELL - it's easy money days are long gone, it's booming earnings days are long gone, and it will never see it's highs at 55 again - period. Estimates will continue to come down, the big money will continue to reluctantly tout the stock while scaling back large positions, and the small fry will maintain his view that DELL is the greatest stock on the planet. DELL once was the greatest stock to own on the planet - not anymore.

I would suggest to any holders that they sell into any strength (more like short on any strength) for it will indeed be short-lived. The stock has gone nowhere for the last 5 months. Technically, the chart could go either way, but fundamentally there are several strong factors weighing against the company (I won't rehash them again - I'm sure many shorts have been beating that horse on a daily basis.)

I'll thank those that might be concerned about my short position and general well-being to simply keep it to themselves. I'm very comfortable with my position. Those that might think I'm risking my money wrecklessly can think about there long positions in the same way.

The earnings report was again no surprise. I am still yet to be surprised by any of the action or events since I shorted the stock. Things will be flat to down from here out - the upside is extremely limited, IMHO. Risk-reward leans in favor of the shorts.

Just one guy's opinion.

All the best,
Todd

PS - I have played DELL for quite some time both on the long side and the short and made money both ways. This position is simply one in a long line of money making trades. I'm not a doom and gloom bear who stalks chat boards. I am in this for one thing - to make money.
