I'm a little nervous about the "Cheap Energy Plays"....but I understand the reasoning. Still own some of those small oil companies and I don't believe their day will return for many years. Primarily because of the oil glut and the lack of interest in these small players by investors. But Harken Energy and Seven Sea's are interesting in here?

Energy futures would be the way to go.....?

Same story on Gold stocks...I dumped most after BRE-X, but still hold a few. Here again, lack of interest and ability to raise money will hamper them for years. I'd buy the big names that get bought up by the large fund holders.

Silver is another story and so is Platinum...have you checked out Stillwater and it's neighbor.....

Note: Stillwater is the only Platinum mine in North America...
This co's ownership is right next door...I'd dig up more info before investing, but this could be a ground floor opportunity similar to SWC which went from $01.40 to $30.00

Idaho Consolidated IDO on VSE Recent Price - $0.44
I would buy at $0.40 or less

It seems that geological evidence suggests that Idaho has their own
reef running parallel to Stillwaters about 2000 metres away. We have
made a lot of money owning Stillwater and I think you should have a
look at Idaho.

I have been following the company for a long time and another point
I really like is when Kinross and Amax merged, they reviewed all their
exploration projects and dumped about 80%, just keeping the best ones.
These included JVs with Idaho. If Kinross considers them the best
exploration potential, so should we.

However, I would be careful buying Idaho, the bid/ask spread has been
wide and the news on Stillwater spike the stock to over $0.95. It has
now settled back down to around $0.45 and has been trading very
thin. I would try limit orders at this price or less.
