Considering the shape IRID is in, what do you think of CDRD? They have also miraculously come up with a billion dollars of funding for an untested system. They similarly will have to overcome marketing problems getting subscribers, and technical problems (can the satellites be launched without crashing, will they really provide the great reception alleged, etc). Caution: CDRD is subject to the usual pump-and-dump by major brokerages that have poured gazillions into the stock: Merrill Lynch; Lehman Brothers; Bear Stearns; NationsBanc Montgomery Securities; U.S. Bancorp Libra.
