"I think many took that to mean Dell would blow away the #s like in the good old days."

In fairness, I think he was talking about revenues. Last qtr, the earnings were great, but the top line revenues we dissapointing. By selling more lower end PCs DELL was able to bring revenues in line, but earnings had to be sacrificed.

My two big holdings are DELL and MSFT. I knew this drop was coming. Dell does this everytime.

"I wasn't surprised by Dell's earnings, so much as Michael Dell's bullish comments before the earnings. " I 100% agree. This was not very responsible of MD.He had to know how the market would react after his bullishness. My only hope is for some good news and an up swing for DELL in the next few weeks.

I wasn't surprised by Dell's earnings, so much as Michael Dell's bullish comments before the earnings. I think many took that to mean Dell would blow away the #s like in the good old days.

Morgan, The strange thing is that Michael Dell was very positive but he also stated that some people would be pleased with their performance while others may not be. That is what I remember from the CNBC interview.
I should have known better and gotten out totally yesterday. I guess it is not so bad by averaging it out I did. Still should have known better by reading into the comments which to me were not as bullish.

That aside, I am getting into more and more MSFT. Going to buy regularily unless we get a severe drop, in which case it will options time for me. STill not getting the opportunity on my favorite options bet---Microsoft.
