ed a.: I would be very surprised is Dell's management is focused on short-term stock prices. IMO the focus is on rewarding investors rather than traders. Traders have done very well with Dell's stock for many years, but as MD & Co. continue to reiterate, this is a transition period for Dell as it matures. I don't expect them to do or say anything just to bolster the short-term price of the stock if it isn't a part of the long term focus. This transition will not be without some short-term pain, but I see little change in the company's fundamentals that would cause me to sell my core holding in Dell. Now my trading shares are a different story. I still think there is room to make short-term trading gains but they will not be as easy as in the past and I may look elsewhere depending on what happens in the next few weeks. But my core Dell holding will remain untouched for the foreseeable future. Best regards and aloha.
