If you place a high limit order to sell your shares (e.g., 20), does this prevent shorters from borrowing your shares? Would be easier than getting certificates...

Rande I have a question that is embarrassingly simple I'm sure. When I see a bid size at 2000, say and an ask size of 5000, what exactly does that mean to me? Specifically I was noticing at one point a stock had a small bid quantity, but the ask was 27,500 (and its avg vol. is usually only 120,000 or so). So was there 27,000 that was looking to be bought? or was that quantity looking to be sold?

Hoping to get educated,
Teri

P.S. I just realized the stock I'm referring to is our "Brilliant" one.

Rande, true "big time" shorts don't have to worry about the availability of shares to short. They do it offshore. Same goes for the debenture holder, although it has been assumed before that MM's will get shares for the paper holder if he doesn't choose to short offshore.

I sold part of my BDE today. Will wait and see how it responds the rest of the week. I like their technology, but they need $$$
Also would have like to seen more volume today conidering the pr.
