Mohan, as I said in my posting, I'm not so sure Dell is over valued at this time especially when one compares Dell to the other pc companies. Look at Ibm, they are still losing money on their pc business. I'm almost willing to forecast that within a week or two, Dell will be back at the mid forties range...assuming the markets don't tank and the sector rotation lets up.

Mohan, RE:<<when was Dell's valuation never an issue?>>

Almost the entire time DELL was a publicly traded company, actually. DELL's P/E was almost always less than 20 prior to the summer of '96.

Prior to that there were much greater issues for investors in DELL to wrestle with, such as the company's almost fatal venture into currency trading, the initial failures at a notebook business, or the large losses in the failed attempt at establishing a retail distribution network. Not coincidentally, people that bought when DELL had these problems are the people that are reaping the biggest rewards.
