NGISC Proposals Under Fire

Thu May 20, 1999

The NGISC's proposals are already evoking controversy. Yesterday, CasinoWire wrote about recommendations from the National Gambling Impact Study Commission (NGISC) to Congress, state and tribal governments, and the gaming industry. On Monday, only hours after deciding to include the recommendation to ban collegiate sports gambling in its report, the commission came under fire from Congressman Jim Gibbons, R-Nev. ''The anti-gaming forces on this commission made a ridiculous recommendation that will never be accepted by Congress or the casinos in Nevada," declares Gibbons. He calls the recommendation "a clear violation of states' rights."

Dave, does CSIN have plans to become reporting? There goal of $1.50 EPS for 1999 is ambitious. Will they be reporting any interim numbers, for example, audited or unaudited quarterly revenues/EPS before becoming reporting or EOY (which ever comes first).

Thanks,

Mike
