Chris, I am long rates because the public took them up too soon, too far. The govt. will definitely scam all new #s they report for awhile to make it look good. And oil is heading south again. Another too much, too soon scenario. And the reason they are increasing money supply and the banks are goose stepping volatillity is because we are in a world wide recession. It will hit here and rates will go much lower when it does.

The chip equipment cos are on a different part of the food chain than the chip makers. The chippies had a temporary hiccup last quarter and they bought a lot of crap, especially in Korea and Taiwan. Now, everyone is losing money and the orders will dry up. It is overcapacity that is killing the industry and the equipment guys just keep making it easier to build too much capacity. Dead meat strategy longer term.
