ORE-GRADE SAMPLES IDENTIFY NEW DRILL TARGET AT MIDDLE PAN

VANCOUVER, BC, June 01, 1999: Latitude Minerals Corp. (LTU.V) is pleased to report results of surface rock-chip sampling along the Company's recently identified 2,000-foot-long Middle Pan Gold Target located in White Pine County, Nevada (Figure 1). Ore-grade gold values to 0.140 opt have been received from highly altered limestone and shale throughout the target area (Figure 2). These values corroborate and further substantiate an undrilled target consisting of extensive zones of leisegang-banded and argillized shale as well as quartz-stockwork veined jasperoid and jasperoid breccia situated between the Company's North and South Pan Gold Deposits (Figure 2). These positive assay results are of major importance because they indicate the Middle Pan target represents a broad zone of gold mineralization, with potential to link the North and South deposits. Combined current oxide resources for the North and South deposits, at a 0.015 opt cutoff grade and as outlined in Latitude's April 20, 1999 news release, comprise 10.86MM tons @ 0.022 opt Au for 234,000 contained ounces. Both deposits contain extensive open-ended, ore-grade, drill-hole intercepts and resource-expansion targets. South Pan also contains potential for higher grades at depth as indicated by holes bottoming in material grading up to 0.148 opt Au.

Details of the sampling program (Figure 2) reveal a clustering of rock-chip values of 0.023, 0.043, and 0.140 opt Au near the northern end of the target. All of these values are associated with the north- to northeast-trending, 50- to 80-foot-wide Pan Fault zone of quartz-stockwork veined and jasperized limestone of unknown length. Clusterings of other ore-grade rock-chip values to 0.024, 0.037, and 0.060 opt Au exist in argillized and silicified Pilot Shale in the southern, western, and northern portions of the target, respectively. These targets are virgin and have not been drilled; those of highest priority will be included in Latitude's upcoming 40-50 hole Pan Project expansion drilling program slated for Summer 1999.
