The real question for the future of the internet is what does IBM believe it's role will be? IBM has traditionally be associated with hardware and software - but, their real future is in the internet itself. As firms like MSFT begin to take major positions in internet sites in a large variety of industry sectors, one can only assume that IBM will step up to the plate in the near future. I personally think we'll see IBM emerging as one of the largest owners of industry specific portal sites over the next year or two. Offie
