Brazil Petrobras cancels $540 mln contracts-report
SAO PAULO, May 17 (Reuters) - Brazil's state oil giant Petrobras cancelled four equipment and service contracts worth a combined 901 million reais ($540 million) on Monday due to delays in execution, a local news wire reported.

Maritima Petroleo e Engenharia Ltd suffered the lion's share of losses, watching two contracts worth 655 million reais ($393 million) for two Amethyst platforms slip away, Agencia Estado said.

Maritima had not been officially informed yet of Petrobras' decision, it said.

Falcon Atlantic Ltd lost the remaining contracts, which included leasing a semi-submersible Falcon 100 ship at a cost of 209 million reais ($125 million).

Agencia Estado reported that Petrobras cancelled the contracts after the companies allowed 210 days to pass without fulfilling their obligations to provide equipment and services.
