okay gang, here's one for you:
I own an OTC bulletin board stock at a huge loss (purchased in 1998) the only problem is the SEC has ordered a trading halt and the stock hasn't traded at all in 1999. How can I realize this loss for 1999 tax purposes? what if it doesn't trade at all this year? can I request the shares and sell them to my neighbor (or anyone) for $.01 ?
