I use the internet the same way, Grace. When I receive a mailing or catalogue from a retailer I always look through it and find the items I want. I then go online and almost invariably find the same item at a substantial discount. Furthermore, when I can avoid the state sales tax I come out way ahead, even after the additional S&H charges. Last month I shopped autos on the net, and ended up buying one from a local dealer who said to me, "bring me your best price on the car and I'll beat it!". Even when you don't buy on the 'net, shopping there and being knowledgeable really pays off. Sure am glad I don't work in conventional retailing...

Well I'm flying tommorrow to LA. I looked for the cheapest ticket I could find with these marvellous internet services and my trusted Travel agent came up with a better fare , booked my car. The hotel I could not do online either because San Diego has their marathon on and they were not taking internet bookings, so I had to do it by phone. As regards fuul service brokers I have read a litany of complaints on SI on E-trade, daytrading threads. A good full service broker is worth paying for, but let me stress good.
The Internet is full of wonderful info, but where is the money being made. I'm just querying the mania and overpaying for the stocks themselves.
