Where in heaven's name could you do that without parents stepping in?
Out here drinking is so frowned upon that for a parent to allow drinking or to acknowledge he even knew about any drinking going on, is to invite the censure of the community. They'd probably put your name in the SOuthlake Journal- like being placed in a sort of virtual stocks- to be stoned and jeered at, stripped of any parental rank.

Following graduation, there is a a lock-in at a club with music and fancy prizes and a casino and activities to keep the kids out of trouble.

In Highland Park, (THE very ritzy Dallas neighborhood) a bunch of kids somehow rented a hall and bought a keg for a big secret party. THey were discovered and it was this giant scandal. Made the Dallas papers and caused all kinds of tongue-wagging.

I have no memory of Baccaluareate-- am racking my brains- my whole graduation is fuzzy- my mother had had surgery and had to leave the hospital and come in a wheelchair.
