steven..."overjoyed"

we all know what mikey meant, unfortunately he wasn't clear enough with the markets....they wanted more...

and if mikey merely stated..."the days of 50% growth in the pc business is over, but the potential of the internet, in areas yet to be explored is infinite...and dell will be at the fore front of this new dynamic, with revolutionary concepts, as we proved with the humble pc"

betcha it would of gathered a lotta of interest with the analysts...
gotta learn when interviewed, not to allow one to put words in your mouth, take control of the dialogue, don't react, lead...use it as your venue...

I agree entirely, as my recent posts have said. Not sure why
you needed to direct that comment at me, but that's fine,
I also feel it was an amazing financial performance, yet again,
and, of course, growth slows as the company grows (hey, that
rhymes! :-)

We were told by Dell management that the days of 50%+ growth were ending, Michael told an analyst meeting recently that they should NOT raise their estimates. Anybody who was surprised by yesterday's report is guilty of wishful thinking and ignoring the evidence in plain sight. Yesterday's numbers were stellar but not incredible just like we were led to expect if we were listening.

Well said. LW
