Freeus, I was sad to come to the same realization about Dell 1 quarter ago when I got destroyed by last quarter's earnings bus wreck.

This is quite a lesson to us. We can't fall in love with a company as we do with a person. I continue to be a loyal Dell customer through my business, but I can no longer say I am a shareholder...as of 2 months ago.

My analogy for this is climbing a tree to escape a flood...you jump into a tree as the water level keeps rising...in this case Dell is at the bottom of the tree and is now underwater...we need to move on to other companies that are adding value and flourishing...move up the tree...in this analogy, the water is commoditization. Dell has the right business model for their situation, but it is no longer a good stock as you said. This will continue to happen in tech...so we must always be ready to move on when the signs are there...

Hopefully the tree is tall...Moving on to higher branches,

Captain Leap

DELL Stock does not break my heart. It will go up to 45 in no time. A $20 billion with 40+% growth won't go bankrupt anytime soon. Remember HWP? How many times have they missed the earning estimates? The Kosov situation really breaks my heart. How many lives have lost. How many souls are suffering! These losses can not be recovered!

OT freeus, I sympathize with you Re: Dell. Cannot get attached to any stock because you never know when they are going to let you down.
Maybe Dell will come back, maybe not. I got into Dell at 47 and got out at 45 in Mar. I wasn't happy with it. Maybe it will change. All we can do with these things is consider them for what they are : a piece of paper with fluctuating value. Try and ride as best as you can but be ready to sell it.
Learned the hard way,

Since its my major holding I'm pretty disgusted with the stock movement of DELL.
But the signs have been there since February and I stubbornly refused to admit it:
also losing big on May calls (and probably on August too).
One must follow the trend...ignore at your peril. DELL is a great company but no
longer a great stock.
Breaks my heart to say it but there it is.
Of course Clinton's executive orders, which are slowly taking away all our
freedom's without Americans even batting an eyelash, breaks my heart a whole lot
more.
