They have cut it up and it is in cold storage for a few days then will be distributed to tribal members. Bones will be hung up and by tribal tradition, all of the whale must be used before another whale is taken. They plan another hunt in two weeks.

I have no idea what life expectancy of the grey whales are.

"I say they are ignorant savages."

It's a shame that they're not. The world could certainly do with more ignorant savages and fewer educated ones.

"What will they do withe carcase.(sic)"

I would assume that they will (oh how ghastly!) eat the flesh and make tools and trinkets and scrimshaw fountain pens out of the bones and, oh I don't know..., use it.

I wonder what whale tastes like...

<<I say they are ignorant savages.>>

Grey whales have been on the ESA-- threatened list and have recovered enough for some of the native Indians to go back and be allowed one of their cultural rights. Would you rather they slowly kill the whale rather than using the high powered rifles for a quick and more human killing? Come on, ignorance isn't bliss nor does it make you look very intelligent nor well read.

Furthermore, talk about savage killings....go back in US American history to find out about savage killings.

What about the Poor salmon that are becoming extinct due to the white man's Bonniville Power dams and the like. What about the wonderful clear cuts on Canadian Vancouver Island and the damage to the salmon runs there? I've seen it first hand.

OK, enough of my soapbox. Please use your efforts to pursue a more legitamate issue. I apoligise if you were really being more tongue and cheek.
