One reason to own Dell,

is their quick inventory turnover, thanks to I2's supply chain software. Selling over the internet, to lower cost is fine too (look how Cisco is brilliant in this respect). So when they quickly turn any order into cash in their pocket, that sounds like a rather good business to me. As DEll's growth outperforms its rivals. like IBM or Compaq *and* does this at a good margin, I'm comfortable with the share I (today) got.

Lutz

Just ate a half dozen chocolates thinking about my dead DELL calls.

Well, freeus, that's certainly better than morphing into displays of passive/aggressive behavior. And it's a great way to cope. We all need chocolates. Lots of them.

But you gotta get closure on this event by Friday, if for no other reason than to be ready for the market's opening the following Monday. If the position is still underwater at 4:00, howzabout digging a hole in your backyard and burying the buy tickets...

Sniffff,

Mark A. Peterson

Dell is STILL #1 in Y to Y sales. The only problem is that it is not the "hot" stock right now. There is NO other reason for the fall. I do agree with some people, that some day there will be a breaking point; that is .......when Dell forces Compaq and IBM to "re-organize".

The facts are:

Y/Y sales growth
IBM-4%
DELL-44%
CPQ-26%
GTW-18%
HWP-9.7%
