Mephisto, No way SUN has neither cash nor stock to buy CSCO. It is
the other way around, CSCO can buy SUN if it wants to. But that
won't happen at all as far as I can see. On the other hand, SUNW
and CSCO are the two best position company in silicon valley and
they shall go up while the internet prosper.

CSC is not CSCO. It is customary for the company with the higher P/E to acquire the "cheaper" company --- in hope of dragging up total capitalization rather than pulling it down --- i.e. making it accretive.
