Bob, I want to illustrate why the stock price is important to XOMA. It is not just the science. My vote against management would have failed to get any support if the stock had taken off earlier. Not only you but everyone else would have told me to stuff it. Imagine you are trying to do a deal and running out of cash and your stock is selling at a 10 year low. Do you think these companies sell floorless convertibles because they think it's a neat thing to do? They are desperate! When some one else could buy your whole company for $200 million, why would they be eager to do a partnership for $100 million? Stock price matters. Hope all will learn that. Hope XOMA is paying attention. Think they always knew it but not sure that they realize that more complete disclosure is one of the keys to having ones stock sell at a more appropriate value.
