Having been in a few altercations in my life, none of which escalated to actual physical violence, my perception is that first there is the taunting stage. If so, you may be well served by having me at your side. I have a good track record at responding to taunts in a way that makes the taunter want to leave the scene. Amateurs respond to taunts in a way that makes the taunter want to beat the crap out of them. It's an art, getting rid of taunters.
