Higher MHz will always command a premium and we know the old axiom. MHz sells

There will always be a group of people who buy fast cars. Most of us don't bother, because we understand that our driving speed has nothing to do with the maximum speed of the car.

The CPU business has not matured to that point yet, but it is moving in that direction. People are paying a 500% premium for a 5% performance delta right now. The move towards K6 and Celeron indicates that buyer awareness is increasing.
