And how does AMD expect to pay for Cyrix? By asking all employees to recycle cans and donate blood? By renting out empty space in the Dresden fab as German office space? By having every staff member take out cash advances on their credit cards in the hopes that the Y2K bug will wipe out their credit balances? (I saw that last one on the Dilbert cartoon a week and a half ago.)

AMD is trying to execute to an already ambitious plan. The surest way to make AMD stumble is to change the plan with the acquisition of Cyrix.
