Evening Dave. Wow, it's amazing how this site comes alive when things begin to unfold!!!
...responding to your post of waaaay back 7 whole hours ago!!!

Dave, I misled you, and apologise. When perforating, bullets are used, which are similar to firearm shells. Yes, they are explosive devices, albeit very small ones.
I got the impression you were thinking that they were going to use dynamite as a means of collapsing the area downhole, which of course would be a ridiculous idea to anyone in the O&G business, but possibly not to the average Joe. That is the idea I was trying to correct.

Anyway, there you go. You were right.

Regarding the sequence of events - as a geologist I sit wells during the drilling phase, and have never seen a well snuffed out in this fashion.

If anyone has a clue about the events required to kill this well, I would also be very interested to hear about it. I have an idea, but don't want to comment for fear of being totally wrong.
This won't benefit us one iota, as investors, but would be interesting to learn about.

Have a good night/morning.

Rick.

** OFF TOPIC**

Morning Dave,

can I have a go.

<<There aren't too many gas wells spudded in the neighborhood of Canada's Parliament Buildings!>>

We couldn't afford any more gas in this particular neighborhood - the Parliament Buildings would blow up. If it weren't for the media piping out all the gas produced there and dispersing it on the rest of the country, the ensuing inferno would make the ELH look like girl guides' bonfire.

Have a good day.
