Thank you Fred for the remedial courses in bad manners, sarcasm, and general bad karma in posting. <s>

>>You are forgetting one simple fact. For the first time in decades, we have a budget SURPLUS and not a budget DEFICIT. <<

Did you add what the Kosovo deal is costing us and whatit will cost to rebuild it whenit is over. Also did youfactor in the cost of the lost revenue from corporate taxes now that RJR is selling it's tobacco businesses to off shore companies to avoid the litigation issues. Of course this is not factoring in the loss of capital gains taxes on the fact that most stocks have not climbed this year and we have probably seen the top inthe market for the year.

In this great upwards economy of the US, it is amazing that no one cares our "Big Three" auto comapanies are now the Big One since the other two are foreign owned now. How many oil companies are still US owned????

Back to lurk mode,

Lee

Fred, I agree. Must be why Wharton is rated higher than Stanford on the Biz School lists. <g> Who cares about what the govt. is doing? What is the consumer and the corporations and the local govts doing? Going into hock faster and deeper than at any time in history. Pretty scary.

<<Man, I wasted all that money on Stanford!! >>
Looks like it. MIT or Stanford or any other school will give you a degree. Common sense is what you have to be born with.

You also said you are waiting for the "soft-landing" here is another guy's take on the "soft-landing." #reply-9628513

I belive he is also a Stanford grad. He claimed to be Milton Friedman's student. I have no reason to disbelieve his claim, just as I have no reason to disbelieve your claim that you got a degree from Stanford.

I gather from your post that you are open for criticism and listening to opposing view points. So, I take the liberty of telling you this: if I were you I won't be so vocal as to display my naivete and ignorance. In the name of the compassionate and polite idea exchange, which BGR taught us, I request you to take this as constructive criticism, not as a flame.

Thanks for listening.

Correction to my previous post to you. The poster I referred to may not be as Stanford graduate. Though it is irrelevant, I deeply regret the slip. If any one thinks it is relevant, perhaps it is a waste of my talking to them.
