<g> Diamond Falcon

you read my mind Link. This would seem to be the most plausible and perhaps only way for FLC to combine. Your envelope scratching is really interesting and you haven't even factored in the possibility of wrapping and rewriting some of that FLC debt into a lower interest package that FLC's bondholders might find to tempting to pass up. Happens all the time in the M &A world. Or exchange it for some fresh equity. The Tisch boys know how to cut a deal.

What would be in it for DO? Dominance in the GOM; huge, newly supplemented, state of the art deepwater fleet; "pricing power" to counter the consolidating majors; ALL at an arguably perfect point in the cycle.

Dang. Fun to fantasize, huh? {Remember folks, weez just speculatin' a little.}
