1.Important issue of Forbes companion, ASAP May 31, 1999. Devoted to Biotech. No
mention of XOMA.
Very interesting article on the SCIOS presentation to the FDA committee. Am sure
someone at XOMA has read
it, but if not it is a must. Makes one appreciate how daunting a task they have and
why they probably would
like to strangle their shareholders, or at least some of them.

...................Murphy Letter Call in line...........

2. Murphy really had nothing to say on XOMA and what he said was stupid. Basically
proposed run up due to 1
st. quarter report putting everything together in a neat package. then he said the
annual meeting is tomorrow.
But I like Murphy and feel you get your moneys worth with his letter. Just hate it
when he makes dumb
statements. I can handle that myself, without his help. <g>

This is a print from March 99. In other words when a filing is made for purchases or sales the brokers used are identified by the date of the transaction at the end of the filing.

The theory is each institutional purchaser has a slightly different set of "prints". Prints can change over time, so I keep looking at the most recent prints.

I believe I see some of the same prints when I look at the dealers involved in last months XOMA transactions.

But I believe a lot of other things too. For example that one sees what one wants' to see. That I am not often confused by the facts. And once while on a computer help line, when I was asked, "Whats' that in the background?", I thought the guy was asking about the noise being made by the pump in my aquarium. He just meant my screen saver.

What else does one "learn"??

Take this finger print ridge of just one day.

250 thousand shares purchased and then one sale at the end of the day of 5,000 shares at a lower price.

Look at other ridges. Gee instituions mess with even a thousand shares. Gee sales seem to be made using one specific broker while purchases are made elsewhere.
