Alan, I feel for your position !! :) I know exactly how you feel. And it really surprises me that it's hardly ever mentioned here on this board or other sites. It was very disappointing. I'm more of a position trader (ie. carry 4-5 positions at any given time over say couple few days). It appears that RealTic is/was built for daytraders only, in mind, I guess. No totals on anything outside of the day. I'm in no way knocking MBTrading, my opinion, the best overall service and execution platform out there (one of the best), and why this hasn't been corrected through the various updates we've received has never been explained well enough for me. I mean the quote sheet is really nothing more than a spreadsheet, again guessing.
Anyway, to me, no excuse, but that's the way it is for now. I use WOWdt on a second machine for charting and positions (but that doesn't hold short positions. Never ending battle :) Keep the spirit though, hopefully Townsend will consider position traders "Real Traders" too in future releases. I mean "what the hey, I pay my 300 a month too !"
Please keep me posted if you come up with something in the future.

Fiddle away Nero!

I'm sure MBT and the folks who own RealTick have even more devious methods to obfuscate you regarding your true account value.

Instead of blasting the broker, why don't you simply call them and ask for a clarification? I've found that they are more than willing to help, and it looks like your confusion arises from a simple misunderstanding or miscommunication regarding the account info screens. I've found that Brenton and Beth are both very knowledgeable regarding all margin matters. Familiarize yourself with the margin and EOD reports and call MBT for some help.
