To: the TA guys, re: MACD

I wouldn't put much on TA that uses only the day's closing price. It misses EVERYTHING that took place during the course of the day. It does NOT compute moving averages finely enough for my tastes. Since both the MACD and stochastics depend entirely upon both the window over which the average is computed AND the sampling of the data curve, you can actually 'mine' the data to see very different things depending upon the time sampling you use.

Since 'clearstation' does not allow intra-day data sampling to be used in its calculations, I don't use that site. Try 'IQcharts' or even 'bigcharts' or any number of other sites, and play with the sampling. You'll see what I mean. JMO.

I know guys I'm a long term bull just looking at the chart. Without a po it could drop back to 7. You have to laugh at us though we are all getting worked up about 1/2 a point move. I'm ready for a bubble like a 10 20 30 point jump.

Chisy - I know it was in red. Now turning green? The responsiveness of indicators depend upon the parameters used in calculating the moving averages. The last two days' price moves may or may not be significant for some indicators and some charting techniques. (For me, it was not significant.) It is better to find your own parameters that fit the market price data. JMO. Ram
