Rex & Aus, cable MODEMs are top. DSL is top. The problem is that not everyone can get access to this excellent bandwidth.

I was one of the original beta testers for DSL and 1.5Mbs is totally cool. Problem was that it didn't work reliably everywhere. And .. guess what .. I can't buy DSL services anymore at any price. Why? Because THE PHONE COMPANY has determined that the same wires that they used to test DSL before taking it nationwide are too long to support it today.

My cable operator pulled out and DirecTV has all kinds of rules that render high-speed access just a dream. So ... if you have cable or DSL ... count yourself among a lucky minority.

Since I am not that well informed regarding cable modem and DSL, I found a link that helped me out. Just in case any others would like to have a better understanding as well, I thought I would pass it along.
