Rumors Plays
Rumors are one of the worst purposes to buy into a stock, but if they are true, the stock can be handsomely profitable. There are many examples of rumors that made stocks soar. Arguably the most famous is the story associated with KTEL, which had rumors of a short squeeze about to happen and when it occurred in a two-day period, the stock went from 8 to 120. However, if rumors do not come true, they usually cause a drop in the stock price. Therefore, you should only play rumors if you research the stock well and the money you use is not "absolutely" required. Lastly, rumor plays are not stocks to get down on; you have to take the profit and never look back. Don't be frustrated at yourself if you sell a rumor play at 8 and the stock hits 20 the next day, because it will probably be 6 the day after that. To put it simple, don't get greedy with rumor plays. This is a list of the rumor plays with the most potential and likeliness to occur. Listed next to the stock symbol is the recent price, expected price, time period in which the increase/drop should occur, the date the rumor was started and the reason. So, check out these rumor plays out at your own risk and if you like one, take the risk if you can handle it, for nothing feels better than making lots of money FAST. Simply remember two things: all rumors are purely speculational and nothing is guaranteed to occur. Now, dive in! Note: Only the most recent rumor plays are listed and rumor plays may be erased if it seems unlikely to hit the target price or a more attractive stock takes its place.

FWIW Received sample of Dick Davis Digest in mail. May 3 issue cites Yale Hircsh(Smart Money) as recommending buy on neta "Simply because it is so cheap." Came to this thread to see how SI members felt about company. The rumor posting is interesting and perhaps explains the recent price rise. Surprised that neither cs or coms were on the rumor list and frankly came away with the impression that most of the rumors were for speculative momentum plays. Neither here nor there neta seems more like a play that meets my criteria of a stock worthy of a buy on fundamentals(long term horizon) with a nice kicker to make it interesting. Comments appreciated.
