I forgot to mention fish-feeding. You go to the dock in front of the big veranda and throw fish food pellets in and create fish feeding frenzies. First you go put a nickle in the dispenser for a handful of the pellets. Twice I've seen excited children fall off the dock, and fully clothed adults jump in after them, of course. For a fee, there are horse and buggy rides up the mountain. Also, there is an elaborate garden, huge, no, there are lots of them, to walk in, and enormous bouquets of fresh flowers all over the place, and some tree houses.

We once watched two quite old people, clearly a widow and widower, meet, and talk about books, and fall in love, there. Along the paths around the lake, and on the path up the mountain, there are memorial seating spots, benches looking out over pretty views, with little plaques bearing the names of people who used to love this spot or that, and maybe a loving sentiment, and they make me tear up. Tear rhyming with fear, not with fair. Sometimes even cry. Benches longa vita brevi.
