You should go back a re-read some of the releases. The pipes are thought to be buried in their own spew of volcanic material. In other words they are buried in the same material they are made out of. ACA and MEO pipes are presumably emplaced in rock having a different magnetic composition than the material in the pipes,...hence stand out. There is considerable overburden on top of the volcanic sources on the Marum land, be they pipes or something else. We are back to testing for indicator minerals as likely the only way to find the pipes. cheers again, russett
