That's just it: people were interested because DGV is *not* a "new toy." That's what impresses me the most about it, and others seemed to feel the same (I obviously didn't canvass the whole room for people's opinions, but the general feeling was one of awe). I mean that. Awe. You have to imagine the scene: 3 other presenters from RNWK, VCST, and Virage had painted up nice pieces of the puzzle. DGV put them all together. RNWK is a great company, but only because it allows me to listen to/watch things like Manchester United beating Arsenal. It entertains me, but doesn't DO anything for me. VCST does the compression/encoding that makes streaming video practical over a network. Very good tool to have (I own VCST stock, too, though I'm not as happy with them as I am with DGV). But just a piece of the puzzle. Virage is absolutely astounding, though once your eyes get used to the dazzle of their technology, you see that they don't offer a standalone product to anyone but the CIA and news stations (Go to their website for the best description of their product -- virage.com . They do video cataloguing. Searchable video. For words. For images. Everything. Very, very cool.). They are a valuable tool, but only as part of a larger product. That product is DGV. Everything came together when Tom Stigler stepped up to explain VideoVisor Professional and Web. Suddenly, it clicked in people's mind exactly HOW they could use this technology, why it was useful. You know what was interesting? Tom asked people to raise their hands if they'd heard of DGV. Maybe 5-10 did (out of ~50 people). When asked to raise their hands if they felt they understood DGV's products, I was the only one (that I could see) to raise my hand. People came to see RNWK. They left seeing that RNWK is just a piece of the puzzle. DGV is the whole product (at least, for the applications they're targeting -- corporate and education distance training). I expect to meet with DGV in the next two weeks. I hope to learn more about the product and where they're heading with it. I don't have a clue as to where the stock will be in a week. But I do know that DGV is going to grow. The sales people are exceptionally able, in my opinion. The product is important and useful NOW. It is cool technology, but more importantly, it is USEFUL technology. Today. They should get me to sell their product. Maybe I will...(: Rhino
