great post but if I read it correctly..the implications are that it doesn't matter whether or not there is a gold standard or basket of commodities but rather honest bankers :-)

Ask a Congress person and a Senator. Better yet, ask if anyone has audited the IMF gold that is to be sold. Is it even there? Best idea:
ask everyone on every banking sub-committee! Get in their faces!

This is possible - but I'd think that buying on the scale needed would have resulted in a firmer market than we've seen? d
