Why is there such a public outcry when humans cut down the biggest trees, and in this case, the biggest fish? Nobody's carping over puny little carp, or spindly groves of alder, what's the dif?

Besides, did you see the news footage with a scene of the children trying a taste of blubber? They cut to them putting in their mouth and then cut away very quickly---I bet alot of them spit it out!

Also, protestors were carrying placards that said "Get a new culture" presumably they mean, abandon your ancient rituals, as we have. We have to remember, the type of people that immigrate in droves, might be more adaptable than the ones who have stayed on ancestral lands for centuries.

Although the tribe did not appear to have the same features as those of their supposed forebearers. In the pictures of them on their backyard decks at their afternoon barbecues they looked like grubby pale rednecks to me. Not that there's anything wrong with that! And hey that whale meat on the grill actually looked pretty good. I think that's what really bothers all the Keiko lovers. Where's Craig McCaw now???? ( he was the one who arranged and financed Keiko's folly)

Neah Bay looked very calm on the days of the hunt. Wonder if they made the canoe?
