ERICSSON: SALES OF NEW T18 OFF TO A GOOD START (Nyhetsbyrån Direkt) - STOCKHOLM (Direkt) Sales of the new Ericsson T18 have come off to a riveting start and only two weeks after its release retail shelves are empty, according to Dagens Industi Wednesday. "We could have sold substantially more phones if we only had more," Jesper Silvenius, purchasing manager at On-Off Sweden told the newspaper. Alongside a massive ad campaign, retailers attribute consumer interest in the T18 to the fact that it is the first new model that Ericsson has come out with in a long time. The T18 is the mid-range price model in Ericsson's new cellular phone line, which includes about 20 more models this year. The T18 was introduced simultaneously in all countries in Europe and Asia with GMS standard, but the Swedish market is considered one of the most important. According to Bo Albertsson, Ericsson spokesperson, the company expects to be able to deliver up to demand within a few weeks.
