income projections

the model for calculating income from pc's can be looked at several ways. everyone seems to be in the same ballpark on pc's. but now we must add for servers, AND other uses.

rambus staff briefed a few months ago that they expect only 35% of revenues to come from pc's. 15% from servers and 50% from other uses. that prediction was made before some huge (other than pc) design wins were announced.

an allowance for the following needs to be added to those revenue models:
high speed telephone equipment. in production by ti.
sony pII
nintendo ?
we know rambus has recent design wins for laptops, dvd, scanners, copiers, multi-function devices, and (this is huge) digital tv. what kind of revenue do you get when rambus is in all of our dvd's, scanners, copiers and hdtv's as well as our pc's.

we have been totally overlooking asics. 9 companies have now licensed rambus for asics. why? what are the uses? why don't we talk about this? this market is many times bigger than pc's and is projected to grow exponentially for the next few years. intel is making a big deal about their new "strong arm" asic core licensed from armhy. how many of these will be produced with the rambus interface (maybe all)? does rambus get into the handhelds next year? how about the new cell phones(i read the arm core is used in over 90% of european cell phones)?
what revenue will rambus get if they are in your cell phone and handheld?
use of asics in cars is supposed to increase 250% in the next coupla years. how much rambus will be in our cars? i mean besides your vehicles preinstalled dvd, game player and digital tv.

does anyone else think that this could be a core reason for intel's bold statement that "RAMBUS IS THE MEMORY TECHNOLOGY OF THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE", and their insistence on not supporting any other high speed memory?

keep in mind that the rambus cfo said the royalties for these other uses are 2x that for pc's.
