Just a thought...why would Ampex need Virage...doesn't their own "partioning" technology do this. In fact doesn't DST search out and load what is needed within seconds. Bell Atlantic is building an archive and using virage as a search engine. BAM, agree BEL is a damn dinosaur. ADSL is available at my exchange, but my home is too far away.. they said maybe in 12 months. I'm sure by then I will have found more eager companies that will meet my needs. Possibly, web search function can be built into the HSM software. Did anybody see NTAP, Net Appliances growth this last quarter. That market is growing bigtime..maybe MicroNet will be an IPO in 12 months?
