GLOUCESTER, Mass., May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Candela Corporation (Nasdaq: CLZR - news)
Laser's Dynamic Cooling Device(TM) is seen by some as the major strategic advantage in Candela's
business strategy. It mimics the razor/razor blade refill model followed by such companies as Gillette.
By selling certain lasers, such as the GentleLase for hair removal at relatively low prices compared to
the competition, Candela is able to make much of its profit on consumables. ''It is not unusual to pay
more for consumables over the life of the GentleLase than for the actual GentleLase itself,'' remarked
dermatologist and experienced laser surgeon Richard J. Sharpe, M.D., M.S., Engineering, Chairman
of Clickmed Corporation. ''The major consumable is Cryogen, which is unique to Candela lasers.
Clickmed, by offering an ultra pure generic alternative to Candela Cryogen is giving the consumer a
choice and at the same time, despite lower prices, predicts a substantial profit for Clickmed from the
sale of our Cryogen replacement,'' stated Maureen H. McAloon, Ph.D., and President of Clickmed
Corporation.

With the launch of next week's aggressive marketing campaign we expect our initial sales, which
were generated with light direct mail, and telemarketing to increase substantially. ''Due to our lean
and mean infrastructure, we are poised to make a substantial profit on this product despite our lower
prices. Clickmed guarantees that its Generic Cryogen, which is manufactured in a fully FDA
approved facility is of the same or higher quality than the Candela product,'' remarked Dr. McAloon.

Clickmed Generic Cryogen can be used in the Candela GentleLase, the Candela Scleroplus and the
Candela SPTL-1b. Should Candela license its DCD (Dynamic Cooling Technology), Clickmed will
also enter the Generic Cryogen market for these applications.

Great! The day after I buy it. It appears that Candela licensed this product to their competitor. Oh well I hope they know what they are doing.
